An elite team of GI Joe professionals equipped with the latest spy and military technology travels tirelessly around the world. They fight against the arms company Destro and combat the growing influence of the dangerous secret organization Cobra, which is trying to throw the world into chaos. Even though the plot of this epic action film draws from a quintessentially American game, Czech viewers will feel right at home when watching it. One of the key scenes, an opulent car chase, takes place against the backdrop of Prague's Old Town. After all, director Stephen Sommers (the creator of the first two parts of The Mummy) knows how to make his films in a generous way. Although the United States is considered the "world policeman", in reality it is an organization called GI Joe, which uses the most advanced technology and the most proven people to fight evil all over the world. Her current focus is on the arms company Destro, which is openly playing on multiple sides, and especially the mysterious organization called Kobra, whose activities are steering the world towards ever greater chaos. The situation is all the more serious because the members of Kobra are no worse equipped than the members of GI Joe. As with the adaptation of Hasbro's previous game series, the Transformers action figures, the biggest challenge for the filmmakers was balancing a story that would satisfy both fans who grew up with these figures and viewers who are not familiar with them. "We could only copy the characters who gradually transformed from action figures into heroes of cartoons and animated series, but that would lose those 'unmarked' viewers," says the director, who bravely decided to take a middle path on the border between a classic comic book adaptation and a Bond-style adventure. Unlike other "hero" action films, the side of good is not an isolated individual, but a group of equal specialists with different abilities and mutual ties. We enter their world through Duke (Channing Tatum), who is the leader of a team that also includes a beautiful but emotionally immature spy, a mute devotee of Asian martial arts, and Czech model Karolina Kurková in one of the smaller roles. In addition to her, the film also stars Dennis Quaid, Sienna Miller, and Christopher Eccleston.
