This is a beautiful original watercolour painting by Gabriel de Jongh of a beautiful and majestic mountain landscape of the Cape.
The colours and texture of the watercolour painting create a wonderful contrast between the scenery in the foreground and the vast mountains set to the back.
Gabriel de Jongh (1913 – 2004) was a Dutch artist who created many landscape paintings of the Western Cape of South Africa, featuring the monumental mountain ranges framed by rural milieu and snaking waterways. His work was painted in rich hues and with atmospheric perspective.
