The nuvi 2200 will get you there with a minimum of fuss. Just type in your where you want to go, and it will take you there by showing the route on the screen and also talking you through the turns. This nuvi speaks street names, making it so much easier to know where to turn.

The ecoRoute features saves you fuel and money by suggesting the most economical way to drive. It also allows you to calculate the cost of a journey.

If the traffic on the highway gets too much, you can ask the nuvi to avoid highways. You can also ask it to avoid toll roads if you prefer.

What happens if you take a short-cut or even the wrong turn? The nuvi will automatically recalculate a new route for you. No mess, no fuss.

The nuvi will allow you to preview the route it is going to take before you even leave, so that you can confidently see where it is going to take you. And once you are driving, the trip computer page will give you the speed, kilometres travelled, fuel cost, time and distance to destination. You can also choose to display one of the following on the map page; distance to destination, estimated time to destination, estimated time of arrival, direction of travel, elevation or time of day. The nuvi 2200 will also indicate the speed limit for most major roads.

If you want to go somewhere and you want to stop at various places, you can create a multiple route with all your stops along the way. You can then ask it to find the shortest (optimal) route to from start to finish, if you prefer. This is great for persons like reps that need to see many customers and want the gps to tell them the best route to get to all of them. You can save up to 100 routes for future use. This is a real time and fuel saver.

Once you have been to a place there is no need to remember the address again, just store it as a favourite, and navigate back to it at any time. Store up to 1000 favourites. Setting the "home" feature will get you to that place at the touch of a button.

You can take your nuvi out of the car for up to three hours to tour the sights of any place. It will remember the last place that you switched it off (Garmin Locate feature).You can use it in automobile, pedestrian or bicycle mode. The pedestrian mode allows you to walk the wrong way up one-way streets for example.

For your convenience you can choose a route that is fastest or shortest or uses less fuel. The nuvi 2200 can also draw a straight line to your destination. Useful if the destination is off the street. You can optionally display the trip log of where you have been. The myTrend facility remembers your favourite way of driving to certain destinations, and allows you to choose your favourite route over that which the nuvi calculates.

Switch between car, bicycle and pedestrian user modes. For example, in pedestrian mode, this will allow you to walk the wrong way up a one-way without the gps complaining.
