MALA BRACELET

 The mala, or Japa mala, is a string of beads that is used like a rosary to count the number of times that a mantra is recited.  This process is known in Sanskrit as "Japa".  The main purpose of the mala is so that the user can focus on the meaning or the sound of the mantra and not the counting of repetitions. 

The large main bead, called the Guru bead, symbolizes the Guru, from whom one has received the mantra one is reciting. 

Garnet serves to balance the physical, spiritual and nervous system. It increases the senses as well as improves our vitality and stamina. It is also very good for business as it brings about success. Statues of Isis, the Egyptian goddess of nature, often included garnets in her ceremonial belt representing her blood and her power.  It furthermore has attributes of devotion and is strongly associated with balancing of the sex drive and emotional disharmony.  Garnet is known as the 'stone of commitment' which means to purpose, to others and to oneself.

 The bracelet is approximately 20cm and consists of 27 mala beads and garnet.
