YVONNE’S COLLECTABLES

 
From GASKELL & CHAMBERS, the sole makers of this “quarter gill” brandy dispenser, made according to SA pattern No. 79, and with various numbers stamped on it. The item seems to be complete except for one screw top which is missing. I have not attempted to disassemble or clean the item. Weighs just over 800 grams. 
 
From Wikipedia: “The 1⁄4 gill was previously the most common measure in Scotland, indeed there are pubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow called The Quarter Gill, which insists on serving whisky by the 1⁄4 gill (35.5 ml).”
