The EGA card was tested with the DIPS switches and a modern LCD and is working in all the listed modes.
An EGA extension cable is supplied, the MCE can also be plugged directly in the EGA card.
The MCE unit need to be powered by 5V. This is done vial the Micro-USB connector on the Pico Pi using any old cell charger. There is also DuPont connector for 5V on the MCE Blaster so one could make up a DuPont to Molex cord and power it off the PC as well.
The MCE has been pixel corrected for the supplied EGA card and settings saved to the Pico's FLASH memory . The supplied pair is Plug and Play.
An instruction sheet for the MCE is supplied.
You can use the MCE with other Graphic cards Herc, CGA, MDA as well as EGA. You will get a picture straight away but you may get some shimmer or tearing and this is adjusted by the buttons and with the option to save that setting to the Pico's FLASH memory.
The MCE displays a splash screen on the VGA monitor when it is powered this goes away once it receives a signal from the computer.
Having VGA output will also allow you to use a modern KVM switch and have several machines sharing one VGA monitor.
