A Cased Set of Twelve Medals, "Generals of the Anglo-Boer War". Made in 1977; designed by Pagliari; produced for the South African Historical Mint. Comes with a 130 page hardcover book giving an account of each of the generals. Also comes with a certificate from the SAHM numbered 790 and a letter. Mintage 5,000. Sterling silver (so marked on the edge). Proof-like mirror fields with frosted designs. The reverses are all the same. Each medal inside a transparent hard-plastic holder. Diameter 45 mm. Pure silver weight 40 gm.
