I must start by mentioning that I ticked the second hand block on the condition of the item with a big sigh! Up for your considderation is a genuine Canon BG-E2N battery grip, with the tray (used to take AA batteries). Included with the grip, is two genuine Canon BP 511 A batteries, not the cheap items which do not charge efficiently and delivers only 70% of their capacity. The grip will fit (is manufactured for) Canon's 20D, 30D, 40D and 50D. Effectively it doubles your shooting time without the hassle of changing batteries. A must have for all aspiring photographers; professionals understand the use of this essential part of their equipment.
All items new would cost R4500 at Orms/SA Camera. I mention this because the battery grip is brand new, and so are the batteries (which still have their covers), not used once or twice; never used. I bought them with all the intentions to use them myself, but then got a very good offer on my camera, I am upgrading and therefore these items are of no use to me.
The battery grip provides controls and shutter release identical to the camera's grip. The BG-E2N replaces the Canon Battery Grip BG-E2. It basically adds some weather sealing around the battery compartment to the original design. The Canon BG-E2N Vertical Grip/Battery Holder adds a vertical shutter release, two BP511 A’s or six AA batteries with included BGM-E2 battery holder. The BG-E2N provides additional shutter release, main dial, AE lock/FE lock and AF point selection controls for easier vertical shooting, as well as a 1/4-20 Size tripod mount thread. The BG-E2N improves upon the BG-E2 grip by adding water-resistant and dirt-resistant seals for greater durability and to match the water resistant capability of the EOS 20D, 30D, 40D and 50D Camera Bodies.
