Genuine East German MDI combat cap size 55. The old East German Kampfgruppen caps were called “Ski Caps,” but to most collectors they are an M43-style cap. The Kampfgruppen caps were made of olive green fabric, with fold-over earflaps. The caps originated with the Wehrmacht in World War 2, but continued to be used in East Germany after the war. It has the small silver cockade (badge) with the DDR coat of arms. The caps have a cloth lining with 4 vent holes and a plastic sweatband. The cap is in very good condition. Great buy for the collector.
