A genuine "DANGER MINES / PERIGO MINAS!" plastic sign salvaged from an abandoned demining operation in Southern Angola. The demining operation was located just inland of Tombwa (previously Porto Alexandre) along the coast in Southern Angola. The abandoned demining camp is situated along the only passable vehicular thoroughfare between the southerly most coastal town of Tombwa and the mouth of the Cunene river (Foz du Cunene) which represents the Namibian Border.

See map of camp location.

Note the light crack on right corner (visible on the rear of this sign). Sign is still intact but somewhat damaged.

(sign remains in the condition it was when it was recovered)

Note item was obtained from a DEMINING operation and not an existing mine field. Mines still represent a huge danger to Angola's people. Interfering with an existing mine field would present a real danger to other human beings.
