Presenting this pair of minimalist handmade natural carnelian gemstone drop earrings. Crafted from Sterling Silver and vibrant semi-translucent, asymmetric orange-red carnelian nugget beads. Carnelian chalcedony with natural, irregular nugget or pebble cuts rather than calibrated factory sheres. The earrings feature a fixed hoop/stirrup design, holding the irregular, polished gemstone nugget.
Carnelian is traditionally associated with boosting energy, creativity and motivation.
Carnelian has been found in Indonesia, Brazil, India, Iran, Russia (Siberia) and Germany.
Carnelian is a variety of the silica mineral chalcedony, colored by iron oxide impurities. It is typically form in the cavities of cooling volcanic rock. (magma) As the host rock erodes over millions of years, these tougher, mineral-filled nodules wash into the streams and riverbeds, which is where they are typically unearthed. Genuine, vivid natural carnelian is increasingly rare.
