A single glance and you can bet your last dollar (rupee) on the fact that this phone is meant for the fairer sex. Slightly bigger than a match box and shaped like a compact powder puff box, this clamshell phone is perfect for the chic who needs to fit all the "Stuff" inside the small purse she has. On opening the GV880 the feminine image was even more evident with the keypad layout and the general feel that it gave. All my female colleagues and friends had just two words for the phone, "So Cute", though there were a few who found the phone a bit too feminine for their liking. Whatever might be their reaction, I am quite sure that men will stay comfortably numb towards the GEO GV880.
The GV880 is a dual band GSM phone weighing just 76 g and measuring 57 x 52 x 21 mm when closed. While the phone sports a mirror on top, the rest of the body is polished in black. The GV880 has a 65K color screen inside that has a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and a 256 color OLED display outside. It boasts of class 10 GPRS connectivity and is WAP 2.0 enabled. The phone does not have Java support and that certainly is a big minus for a phone of this category. Supporting polyphonic ringers, the phone has loads of options in terms of various types of unique ringers. Messaging support is complete with MMS, SMS and EMS support.
The GV880 has a built-in CMOS camera that also captures video clips, which are unfortunately restricted to 10 seconds per clip. The camera has 4x digital zoom as well as some customization in terms of exposure settings and filters like black and white or sepia that adds the extra effects to the snaps.
