Geranium is a genus of 422 species of flowering annual, biennial, and perennial plants that are commonly known as the cranesbills. It is found throughout the temperate regions of the world and the mountains of the tropics, but mostly in the eastern part of the Mediterranean region. Geranium schlechteri commonly known as Schlechter's Geranium or Pink Baby is a South African indigenous species from the Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga Provinces. It grows into a straggling perennial with hairy leaves and deeply dissected stipules. From spring to summer this summer rainfall species bears white fading to pink or white veined pink flowers. The seeds are best sown in spring.
