The majority of half dolls were produced from about 1900 - 1920, although earlier and later examples do exist. They were mostly produced in Germany and Japan. Japanese half dolls are usually marked and tend to be of an inferior quality to German made examples. With the exception of those produced by Goebels and Dressel & Kister, I am unaware of any other factories having marked their dolls. The most sought after of these are the ones made by Heubach, but even those were unmarked. This example is what is known as a closed arm doll. This is a glazed example, but they were also made in unglazed bisque. She is in original condition with no cracks, chips or restoration and stands 9 cm tall. She has the numerals: 14865 impressed to her flange. Please add R35 for postage.
