A very rare autograph of a Knights Cross Holder from the Fallschirmjager.
This photo and autograph depicts platoon leader of the 10th fallschirmjager regiment 3 and Knights Cross holder Bruno Sassen.
Feldwebel Sassen was a veteran of Crete and was further awarded with the Iron Cross, Wound badge in Silver, War order of the German Cross in Gold, Kreta cuff title and Paratrooper qualification badge. He received his Knights Cross on 22-02-1943.
What makes this item so rare its accompanied by a signed letter from Bruno Sassen himself, detailing his life as well as the situation leading to him receiving the Knights Cross.
This letter is dated the 22 July 1986, the autograph is from this period. Bruno Sassen passed away on the 19th June 2006.
