German, WW2, Kriegsmarine Divers Knife*
This is an extremely rare example of a German WWII Kriegsmarine (Navy) Divers Knife, complete with the original brass scabbard. The entire hilt made of alloy and scabbard is made of solid brass having a rich matching patina. The blade on this is single-edged. The butt plate is threaded for tightly screwing it into the scabbard thereby making the knife waterproof. Original WWII examples are very rare, as most were lost long ago or melted down for the brass. This example is completely correct and genuine, with a lovely aged patina on the exterior.
The knife is without maker, but it is a typical of J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk Solingen Knife.
20 cm blade. 31.6cm overall, 34.5cm overall length sheathed.
*Condition*
The scabbard body is slightly dented. The patina matches on this example. The blade is tarnished as youd expect given its age and use. Please see photographs as part of the condition
