German WWII Eastern Front Medal (Winterschlacht im Osten) in excellent condition, retaining strong original finish and detail. The suspension ring is unmarked, as commonly encountered. A clean, well-preserved example of this iconic campaign medal, ideal for any WWII militaria collection.
This medal was awarded to German soldiers who served on the Eastern Front during the harsh winter campaign of 19411942, in recognition of frontline combat service, extended duty in extreme conditions, or wounds sustained in action. Often referred to as the Frozen Meat Medal, it symbolised endurance and hardship under some of the most severe conditions of the war.
