A Rare Boer War Medal to Commemorate the Visit of Paul Kruger to Cologne, Germany in 1900.
Bronze. Diameter 30.5 mm. Mass 12.1 gm.

This medal was made in anticipation of Kruger's Visit to Cologne. The other medal in Hern's catalogue was made after it was learned that the German Kaiser was unwilling to meet Kruger.
Bronze examples of this metal are particularly rare compared to those in brass, and Hern states a value of R4,700.
