Book was issued for circulation in India and colonies only. Background of author: Gertrude and Alec moved to Africa two years after marriage and settled in Rhodesia. They struggled for the first few years, then Alec took on a post with a large company. After 10 years, they were able to acquire a 21,000-acre farm, along with 2000 cattle, which was 65 miles from the nearest town, and 25 miles from a railway.
