The six volumes of this set (this being vol 4 on offer) cover the period from the beginning of the SA War to the Battle of Bergendal, after which the guerilla phase of the war started in earnest. It is to be regretted that due to Breytenbach's death and financial constraints, this historical work will never be concluded. The detailed research and equally detailed maps that accompany the text make this publication a cornerstone of any collection dealing with this war.
