The shaper is also referred to as a spindle or moulder. "Getting the most out of your shaper" is published as a service to power tool users. Shapers are available in a number of sizes and designs. Selecting the proper machine for your requirements depends upon the ultimate use you will make of it. You should carefully evaluate and investigate the capacity of the machine to meet your needs. For example, how much use will the machine have to sustain? Are you buying it for home workshop with seldom or occasional use, or is it to be used for heavy industrial production and frequent use? Balancing your budget with your needs is yet another consideration. For your convenience we have included a check list of things to look for when buying a shaper in the last chapter of this book.
