This first edition book, published in 1938, is by the renowned South African Author and Anthropologist Johan Frederic Holleman, under the pseudonym Holmer Johanssen, when he was only 23 years old.
Mr Johanssen was born in Java, grew up in Holland, and moved to South African just two years prior to the publication of this Afrikaans book.
He went on to write over 20 books, amongst them short stories, romance, and anthropological studies. He was also a professor of African Sociology and Culture at the University of Leiden, Holland from 1963 - 1979.
This book is still in G/VG condition, but is ex-library, thus have all the usual markings.
