Gian Piero Garizio (1931 - ) born in Italy, Garizio came to South Africa in 1953 and has become an artist of formidable stature ! In all his works – be they landscapes, street scenes, flower studies, or the boat scenes of which he is so fond – Gian-Piero is able to capture a depth of mood and atmosphere far beyond the confines of the canvas.

As one of South Africa's master artists, he is famous for his oil paintings depicting south african rural life (with signature donkey carts), district six town scenes, harbour scenes as well as excellent studies of children at play. His works are highly sought after and are a mainstay of many private and corporate collections throughout South Africa.
