To commemorate the first 10 years of Rhodesia’s independence from England in 1975, 1500 solid silver, and 3500 solid bronze medallions were struck.

You are bidding on the silver medallion that comes with a Certificate of Authenticity stating “1500 Fine Silver Medallions in mint condition numbered from 1-1500. Each medallion is approximately 52 mm diameter and 62 grams in weight”

To give you an indication of the size of this huge medal: A South African Crown (5 Shilling piece) weighs 28 grams so this medallion is more than twice the weight of a crown and its made of pure silver!
