AN EXTREMELY RARE ITEM MANUFACTURED IN SACAVERN, PORTUGAL DURING THE 1950's BY GILMAN & CTA, SACAVERN POTTERY. THE SACAVERN POTTERY WAS ESTABLISHED BETWEEN 1856 AND 1859. THE FACTORY CLOSED PERMANENTLY IN 1982 AND TODAY A MUSEUM STANDS IN ITS PLACE. THE FACTORY WAS ORIGINALLY OWNED AND OPERATED BY A PORTUGUESE MAN WHO LATER SOLD TO GILMAN. THE DESIGNER RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ITEM WOULD HAVE BEEN MARIA DE LOURDES CASTRO WHO DESIGNED SOLELY FOR THE MANUFACTURER DURING THE 1950's

THIS EXQUISITE SERVING PLATTER IS PERFECTLY DESIGNED TO RESEMBLE A LARGE SHELL, ALL CRAFTED WITH THE NECESSARY RAISED DETAILS FOR THE SHELL IMAGE TO BE AS REALISTIC AS POSSIBLE WITH MISTED BLUE TONES BLENDING INTO WHITES TO CREATE A REMARKABLE VISUAL APPEAL
