These bulbs are pre-order items and are expected to be dispatched in the last week of August or the first week of September, weather permitting.
Our specialist growers carefully hold back stock until the bulbs have properly cured and are ready for immediate planting to ensure the best results in your garden.

Gladioli thrive in the glorious South African climate, making them a perfect addition to your garden. To unlock their full potential and enjoy a summer filled with their striking presence, here's what they adore:
Sun-Kissed Locations: Plant your 'Purple Flora' corms in a spot that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. This generous sun exposure is key to vibrant blooms and strong, healthy growth.
Well-Drained Comfort: They prefer well-draining soil that's rich in organic matter. If your soil is heavy, consider adding some compost or sand to improve drainage and create the perfect growing environment.
Thirsty & Happy: While tolerant of some dry spells, regular watering is crucial, especially during their active growth period and when flowers are forming. Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. A good rule of thumb is to water deeply once or twice a week, depending on the heat. 💧
Cool Beginnings: In South Africa, the ideal time for planting gladioli corms is from late winter through early summer (August to December). This allows them to establish before the peak heat and burst into bloom from late spring right through to autumn.
Feel the pride as your 'Purple Flora' Gladioli stand tall, creating a dramatic focal point in your garden. Experience the joy of cutting fresh, vibrant blooms to adorn your home, bringing the beauty of your garden indoors. This is your chance to create a truly individualised and captivating outdoor space that reflects your passion for beauty.

Position and soil
Gladioli look magnificent towards the back of a mixed perennial border. Groups of about 25 look best, although groups of 10 in single colours also make a bold statement. The soil should first be loosened to a depth of 20 cm. Hybrid gladioli like a compost-rich soil mix and need a full sun position to thrive. If they are planted where wind is a problem, they will need staking.
Further Care
Watering is very important and you must not allow the sub-soil to dry out. If you notice any harmful insects or fungal rust then you can treat it by spraying with an appropriate fungal spray.
