This is a simple and elegant CERAMIC vase designed in the shape of a classic scallop shell. Finished in a smooth, uniform grey glaze, the piece features clean, vertical ribbing that mimics the natural form of a seashell. Its open, fan-like shape makes it a practical choice for short-stemmed floral arrangements or as a minimalist decorative accent on a shelf or mantel.
PROVENANCE AND HISTORY This piece is a classic example of MID-CENTURY DOMESTIC POTTERY. The "138/1" mark on the base is a standard production code used by various commercial potteries during the 20th century to identify the mould and size. While it does not bear a specific makers mark, its simple, organic silhouette is a staple of retro home decor, designed to bring a subtle coastal feel into the interior without the fuss of ornate detailing.
