Glendine was born in Namibia and matriculated in Windhoek. As a child she spent most of her time in art classes and between the paint and brushes she discovered her love and talent for painting. After school she studied Art at the Pretoria College and Unisa. When she completed her studies, Glendine started painting on a full time basis and she sees her art as her passion and calling in life. In 1983 Glendine’s work was chosen for the Santam Children’s Calendar, which led to an exhibition in Europe. Her work was displayed in various group exhibitions and she also exhibited her art in New York, where she was very well received. This created a great demand for her work in South Africa and overseas. Glendine draws her inspiration from memories of childhood travels. Farm houses with wind mills, street café’s with colourful visitors and other lively scenes have found a place in her heart and they can be seen in her work.
