On the 7th of January 2010, a ferocious blizzard dumped over 1.2 meters of snow on the Glenfiddich Distillery. The weight caused several warehouse roofs to collapse, exposing hundreds of precious maturing casks to the freezing Scottish winter.

Working through temperatures of -19°C, the distillery team and Malt Master Brian Kinsman raced to save the whisky. Standing amidst the wreckage, Kinsman had a sudden realization: the casks that had endured this dramatic ordeal contained something extraordinary. From those exposed whiskies a marriage of casks varying widely in age and finish he created a unique, non-aged single malt to honor the resilience and pioneering spirit of the moment.

As a photographer captured the scene, the light breaking through the shattered roof beams resembled a phoenix rising from the snow. Thus, Snow Phoenix was born.

Bottled at natural cask strength and left non-chill filtered, this radiant golden whisky carries copper highlights and a beautifully complex character.

Nose: Creamy and vibrant, with lifted notes of heather honey and dark chocolate. 

Palate: Roasted orchard apples glowing over campfire embers, woven with sweet heather honey and rich chocolate. Layers of burnt sugar, freshly ground coffee, and gentle wood smoke unfold, balanced by dry sherry notes that slowly soften into deep, satisfying sweetness. 

Finish: Exceptionally long, warm, and refined a lingering echo of resilience and rebirth.

A whisky forged in adversity and risen from the snow.
