"Being Further letters to his Daughter Written in Prison, and Containing a Rambling Account of History for Young People". Hardcover revised and updated (second) edition in one volume, published 1939 by Lindsay Drummond Limited, no jacket. The boards are square, but marked and scuffed in places, with wear to edges and corners. There is a bookseller label pasted to the inside front board, and the end-paper opposite and the following page both have a diminishing burn mark to the top edge. There is a narrow crack to the binding at the title page, showing some netting. This copy has been stamped "Colonial Edition" on the edition information page, but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. Although it is stated in the foreword that this edition runs to 1016 pages, there are only 993 numbered pages including the index, however the book is complete.
