A Globe earthenware ashtray with an attractive green glaze. An excellent example of the wares made by Globe Potteries, which operated in New Muckleneuk, Pretoria, from c.1920 to 1957. Condition good – no chips or cracks. Diameter 120 mm; height 45 mm. The base contains the impressed Globe mark but this is obscured by the white glaze and is difficult to photograph (see last photo below)
