Glutinous rice is also called sticky rice, sweet rice or waxy rice. A type of rice grown mainly in Southeast Asia and Asia. The rice is especially sticky when cooked and is widely consumed across Asia. Glutinous rice doesn't actually contain gluten. It is referred to as "glutinous' due to its sticky "glue-like" consistency.
Glutinous or stick rice can be used in many different types of cooking. It is often used in both savoury dishes as well as sweet dishes.
