A Christmas angel figurine designed for Goebel in the late 1950s by Janet Robson (1902-1974). This angel was part of a group of three figurines known as 'Flight into Egypt', showing Mary and Jesus on a donkey, Joseph walking, and this guiding angel with her lantern. On the back of the angel one can just make out the moulded name ROBSON. The base is marked 'Rob412' and '1959', together with the Goebel, W. Germany, transfer mark. Condition good – no chips, cracks or visible signs of repair. Height 85 mm; width 69 mm.
