UP FOR THIS AUCTION:

 A 1/10th ounce Gold Society Medallion

 

Up for this auction is a 1/10th ounce limited issue proof gold medallion from the Gold Society - commemorating the "Krugerrand Anniversary 1970-1980".  The weight is about 4.2 grams.  Although the wording "fine gold" which appears on this medallion normally indicates 22ct gold, I have googled that these might be in fact 18ct gold, therefore the difference in weight (as well as diameter and colour) in comparison to the Kruger 1/10th that weighs 3.39 grams.  However this beautiful gold medallion still contains 1/10th an ounce of gold, that is 3.11 grams.  With reeded edge.  A scarce item that is very seldom seen for sale!!!
