'Skipper' Hoste was Captain of 'B' Troop of the Pioneer Corps and in charge of the flag-raising ceremony at Fort Salisbury on September 13th 1890. This book was written before his death in 1936 and has now been brought to light and edited by his grandson N. S. Davies. It is a personal account of the occupation and settlement of Rhodesia, including the search for gold following the disbandment of the Pioneer Corps. Please see photos below.
