Transvaal Chamber of Mines, Johannesburg, 1946, two volumes, complete, hardcovers illustrated, large format, pink cloth-boards with lettering to the spines, endpapers illustrated with a map, 1000 pp of prelims and text illustrated with b/w maps, charts, tables and photographs, plus bibliography and index, some slight edgeware to volume two otherwise condition: basically as new.
The author, the De Beers professor of Mining Engineering and Surveying in the University of the Witwatersrand and consultant to the Transvaal Chamber of Mines, was a member of the well-known Jeppe family of Johannesburg which gave its name to the Jeppe reef, Jeppe station, Jeppe suburb and three Jeppe schools
