Gold Victorian Sovereign (Melbourne Mint) 1899

The gold sovereign collection we currently have on auction was previously in the collection of a retired Naval Officer from Simon's Town in the Western Cape.

The condition of the coins are beautiful with all the coins in our opinion being in at least extremely fine condition.

According to Spink's Standard Catalogue of British Coins, many Victorian Sovereigns in top conditions can have catalogue values of 3 to 5 times their gold value, meaning that they are valued at current gold prices up to R70 000+ each.
