Hardcover with no dust jacket. Tight binding and clean inside. Published in 1968 by Purnell & Sons. This is the continuation of the history of the Central Mining-Rand Mines group of companies. Blue boards with gilt lettering to spine and on front board. At the spine bottom is a stain which is not visible on the inside. The front end page has insect damage. B/w and colour photographs and illustrations. Golden Age was an appropriate title at the time when the book was written, because the fifty years before 1968 were indeed golden years for South Africa.
