Pierce Brosnan stars as MI6 agent James Bond in this seventeenth instalment of the spy action franchise directed by Martin Campbell. On his first post-Cold War mission, Bond is sent to infiltrate a Soviet chemical weapons factory with his close friend and fellow agent Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean) and witnesses Trevelyan's apparent death. Nine years later, Bond is sent to investigate when a Soviet-era satellite armed with a powerful weapon codenamed GoldenEye destroys a radar site in Siberia.
He is soon embroiled in a dangerous mission involving betrayal, revenge and a plot to trigger a global financial crisis and societal collapse.
