The Acushnet Company's new Titleist 503.H  The company said the Titleist 503.H provides a more manageable trajectory versus a high lofted fairway metal and a more playable trajectory versus a long iron.

The 503.H, Acushnet said, features a lightweight, molded carbon fiber composite core that provides structure for the thin face design, which allows for optimum weight distribution and a deeper center of gravity. A composite core, in combination with the thin face dampens vibration and provides for lively feel with solid, iron-like sound.

Acushnet said a tungsten screw, located in the sole of the club, helps position the center of gravity low and deep for improved launch and trajectory benefits.

The 503.H, according to Acushnet, is one to two inches shorter than a comparable fairway club for better shot and trajectory control while providing similar distance. At 40 inches in the 19-degree club and 39.5 in the 22-degree club, Acushnet said the 503.H is a half-inch longer than a comparable loft conventional iron, providing additional trajectory and ball speed for better yardage gapping.
