MOST LOCKS ARE MADE FOR KEYS. THIS LOCK IS MADE FOR PEOPLE
Yale knows secure locks. Nest knows the connected home. Together, weve made a tamper-proof, key-free deadbolt that connects to the Nest app.¹ Now you can lock and unlock your door from anywhere. Give people you trust a passcode, instead of a key. Lock and check your door status with your voice using the Google Assistant. And always know who comes and goes.
LET SOMEONE IN FROM ANYWHERE
When the Nest × Yale Lock is connected to the Nest app, you can unlock your door from your phone. Create passcodes for family, guests and people you trust. Get alerts whenever someone unlocks and locks the door. And when Nest knows youre away, your door can lock automatically.
LOCK IT UP
Check the status of your door and lock it from anywhere hands-free with the Google Assistant. You can also enter a passcode, use one-touch locking, or lock it from the Nest app.
ITS SECURE AND TAMPER-PROOF
The Nest x Yale Lock replaces the deadbolt you already have. If someone tries to tamper with it, you'll get an alert. If the batteries start running low, you'll know right away. And if your lock loses power, you can quickly charge it with a 9V battery to unlock the door.
HOW IT WORKS
The Nest × Yale Lock connects to your Wi-Fi and the Nest app through Nest Connect or Nest Guard. Youll need either one to lock and unlock your door remotely.
DO I NEED TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE TO MAKE IT WORK?
The Nest x Yale Lock doesn't connect directly to Wi-Fi. Instead it uses Weave to connect to a Nest Connect or Nest Guard in your home. Your Connect or Guard, which are connected to your Wi-Fi network, let your lock communicate with the Nest Service in the cloud and the Nest app on your phone. If you purchase the Nest x Yale Lock from one of our retail partners. Nest Connect is included in the box when you purchase the lock. You won't need to purchase anything else to make your lock work. If youre installing multiple locks, you may only need one Nest Connect to work with your locks. If your doors are far apart, you might need more than one Nest Connect. For best results, you should try to install your Nest Connect about halfway between your router and your lock.
WILL IT WORK ON MY DOOR?
The Nest × Yale Lock can replace most common deadbolt locks. It will fit several standard door thicknesses: 1 3/8 in (35 mm) thick | 1 3/4 in (44 mm) thick | Between 2 - 2 ¼ in (51 - 57 mm) thick. Your door can be any width or height. Only the thickness and backset matter. The Nest × Yale Lock can be used with doors made of the following materials: wood, metal, or fiberglass. Not compatible: The Nest × Yale Lock is not designed to be used on glass or sliding doors. It was also not designed to work with Mortise locks or multi-point locks. Backset refers to the distance between the edge of your door and the center for the hole your deadbolt. If your deadbolt is more than 2-3/4 in (70mm) away from the edge of your door, its not compatible. You can check the install guide for more information.
