Gorgeous Clarice Cliff for Newport Pottery moulded, hand painted serving bowl. Bridge, buttercup pattern 89A footed candy Dish. This Clarice Cliff handled dish dates from 1930s/40s, body shape 89a, it has a moulded and painted floral decoration, the handle is modelled as a bridge over a stream. It has a printed mark on the underside. Perfect for use or decorative. Dishes of this size are useful to have around. It would look wonderful displayed, but its functional as a serving bowl, jewellery catchall at bedside or vanity or as a soap dish.
Clarice Cliff is now an iconic brand recognised by everyone. Clarice Cliff was born in Tunstall, and at 13 began working in the local pottery industry. In 1913 she moved to A J Wilkinson's Newport pottery in Burslem.
