A BEAUTIFUL ENFIELD CLOCK
MADE BY: ENFIELD
CASE: MAHOGANY
AGE: +-90 years
CONDITION: WORKING
Clocks were manufactured under the Enfield name from 1932 until 1949. Although Enfield was taken over by Smiths as early as 1933, they continued to use the Enfield name for clocks manufactured by that division of the company. Enfield was considered to be a higher quality movement. After 1950 clocks were marked Smiths-Enfield. Smiths-Enfield ceased producing clocks entirely in 1979. This clock only has the Enfield name on it meaning it was made before 1949. Also, bear in mind that there was little domestic clock production during the war years 1939-1945
