Gorteria diffusa Seeds

Indigenous South African Annual

We're so lucky to once again be able to offer this rare & fascinating annual. Bright & shiny orange daisies display “eyes” that really do look like a pair of eyes staring up at you from each bloom. The raised black spots have evolved to mimic a small South African bee fly enticing males to mess around on the flowers and ensuring successful pollination. Thrilling us with its mass of showy 5 cm blooms held close to the ground, it forms a spreading groundcover. Best in full sun & well-drained soil.
