Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City is an Xbox 360 compilation that includes two distinct, story-driven expansion packs for the main GTA IV game: The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. It is a standalone release, meaning you do not need the original GTA IV disc to play.

The Lost and Damned

In this episode, you play as Johnny Klebitz, a veteran member of 'The Lost' biker gang. The story focuses on the raw, gritty underbelly of Liberty City and features a bitter internal power struggle caused by the return of the club's president, Billy Grey.

• Gameplay & Vehicles: Motorcycle handling is vastly improved compared to the base GTA IV game. You can ride in a tight-knit biker formation, which heals your gang members and repairs your body armor on the go.
• Activities & Weapons: Unique side activities include gang wars, bike races with melee combat, and arm wrestling. You also get access to heavy-duty weaponry like pipe bombs and the powerful sawed-off shotgun.

The Ballad of Gay Tony

This expansion shifts the tone entirely, bringing glitz, glamour, and over-the-top action to Liberty City. You step into the shoes of Luis Lopez, a part-time hoodlum and the trusted bodyguard/business partner to Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince, a legendary nightclub impresario.

• Gameplay & Vehicles: The game introduces high-end elements like military-grade weapons (such as the explosive shotgun and sticky bombs) and parachutes for intense base-jumping challenges. You also gain access to customizable sports cars, attack helicopters, and APC tanks.
• Activities & Nightclubs: You help Tony manage two high-end nightclubs, Maisonette 9 and Hercules. Gameplay additions include managing club security, dancing mini-games, illegal underground cage fighting, and the ability to replay missions to score 100% completion ratings.
