lassic One Penny rose stamp from Great Britains surface-printed definitive series, featuring the profile of Queen Victoria engraved by Orlando Jones for De La Rue.
Issued between 1864 and 1879, this design replaced the imperforate Penny Reds of 1841.
Each stamp was individually plate-numbered (inside the side ornament scrolls).
