They are a delightful rich forest green, reminiscent of the 30's and 40's. When you look through them in the light, the ribbing makes a criss cross pattern as it's opposite side shows through. When looking at the surface, the ribbing is diagonal.
This logo was used apparently by Owens-Illinois Glass Co. from 1929 to 1954, so these bottles were manufactured during this period, and are between 63 and 82 years old. It's difficult to say exactly which years, but there is some interesting info on the web regarding the meaning of the numbers around the logo, let me know if you'd like the link.
Condition:
Glass: The mark is visible on all except for one of the small shakers. The condition of the glass is very good, there are no scratches or chips, the bottoms being a little 'scuffed' from use over the years.
Lids: They all show signs of their age, discoloration or pitting, little dents, and scratches in the tin.
Labels: They are made on silvered, thin cardboard, and adhered by a glue, so they come off quite easily. A couple are missing, others faded and worn. Cereal, Sugar and Flour are fainltly visible on three of them.
Size of shakers: H = 11cm (incl shaker lid); W = 5.5cm (square)
Size of Cannisters: H = 18cm (incl lid); W = 9cm (square)
