SR GreenCast 160 Epoxy Resin and Hardener Kit
Create stunning, crystal-clear masterpieces with our SR GreenCast 160 Epoxy Resin and Hardener Kit. Crafted for artisans, DIY enthusiasts, and professionals alike, this system offers exceptional UV resistance and versatility. Let's dive into the details:
- High Clarity and UV Resistance: SR GreenCast 160 is a cutting-edge epoxy system designed for thick castings. Its high clarity polymer remains colorless and brilliantly bright, making it ideal for river tables, encapsulations, wood-resin combinations, and decorative objects. Plus, it boasts enhanced UV resistance, ensuring your creations stay vibrant over time.
- Bio-Based and Environmentally Friendly: GreenCast 160 contains 40% bio-based carbon sourced from plants. You can feel good about using a sustainable material while achieving outstanding results.
- Deep Castings Made Easy: Thanks to its extremely low reactivity, SR GreenCast 160 allows for deep castings up to 10 cm thick at room temperature (20 C). Whether you're working on a large river table or intricate jewelry, this resin delivers.
- GreenCast 160 is specifically designed for casting. Its open surface may require flattening and polishing to achieve a flawless, glossy finish.
- UV Stability and Protection: While it resists yellowing and is water-resistant, it doesn't provide 100% UV protection for permanent outdoor exposure. For added UV resistance, consider overcoating with protective urethane paint or UV-resistant wax polish.
- Curing Time: Allow around 48 hours for touch-dry results, although thin castings may take longer. For full hardness, wait approximately 30 days or accelerate the process with a 24-hour post-cure at 40-60 C.
- Easy Mixing: Each kit includes a bottle of GreenCast 160 Epoxy Clear Resin (1 kg) and a bottle of GreenCast SD7160 Clear Epoxy Hardener (420 g). Mix them at a 100:42 weight ratio or 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume.
- Coverage: With 885 ml per 1 kg, you'll cover approximately 1 square meter with a 1 mm thickness.
- Bubble-Free Brilliance: When mixing, bubbles can form. Vacuum degassing is recommended in commercial settings. For home use, a small propane torch, heat gun, or hair dryer can help eliminate bubbles during curing.
