An EXCELLENT example of a Mid-20thCentury, Large Chinese Grey Marble Foo Dog Statuette. This piece appears to be in a well-preserved state, with handling marks evident. All features appear to be defined and present. The Foo Dog / Guardian Lion is considered to be a protective and benevolent entity , known as 'Shishi' since the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD) and present at sacred sites / temples.

The ideal addition to any 20th Century, Chinese Handcarved Statuette collection or display.
