Boards show substantial shelf-wear and edge-wear. Corners bumped and rubbed. Fore-edge rubbed, somewhat chipped. Insect damage, damp-stain and couple of small stains to front cover. Small stain on the back cover, otherwise reasonably clean and in better shape than the front. Spine sunned and stained, rubbed, especially bottom and top which is somewhat chipped, affecting only the wraps, though. Small spot of insect damage and small stain to top edge. Foxing on front and rear endpapers (maps). Heavy foxing on fly leaf, half-title and final pages. Some light foxing on introductory pages but thereafter text block clean except for age-related toning and couple of small tobacco stains on about six pages. Contained and tidy gift inscription in blue pen on half-title. Otherwise no inscriptions, no underlining, no highlighting, no marginalia. Binding remains tight, no loose, no missing, no torn pages.
